After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in 1995 majoring in Communications and Public Relations from Jacksonville University, Marty moved to Manhattan and began a long career as a trader in his hometown of New York City. Cross trained in a variety of debt and equity instruments; his longest tenures centered in the fixed income bond and preferred stock market. Marty founded and expanded the preeminent fixed income syndicate and preferred stock trading desk at Tradition (North America) shortly after 9/11/2001. After nine successful trading years, he spearheaded the multi-million-dollar sale and migration of his trading team to Tullett-Prebon Securities successfully ending that phase of his career.
With an eye on asset strategies and protection, Marty moved his family in 2013 to the tax-friendly state of Florida and founded The Gables Asset Management LLC, a privately owned, diversified, global investment management firm.
